LEGENDARY QUEER DANCE PARTY #TORONTO
Shane began his music career by crafting mixtapes and producing events, driven by a deep-rooted love for disco, pop, and electronic music. In November 2002, he launched Grapefruit, a party that quickly became a standout in Toronto’s nightlife scene. Alongside Grapefruit, Shane also created the long-running Popmachine series, opened for Scissor Sisters in Toronto, and brought his signature sound to iconic venues like Fly, Mod Club Theatre, The Phoenix, and Circa.
Beyond the DJ booth, Shane has contributed to the music scene as a writer for Xtra and fab. In 2021, he ushered in a new era of Grapefruit with its third incarnation at the Black Eagle, right in the heart of Toronto’s Gay Village. Photo: MItchel Raphael
Brad has been a staple of Toronto’s DJ scene since the late '90s. A residency in the early 2000s at York University’s campus pub and queer nights sparked a musical connection with Shane, leading to Brad joining the Grapefruit crew in 2003. Since then, he’s spent over two decades sharing his passion for electronic, club, and pop music across the city.
Brad has played at some of Toronto’s most beloved events and venues, including Fit, Popmachine, Pitbull, Business Women’s Special, Pride Toronto, ABBA vs. Robyn, and OCAD’s annual GradEx party. In 2021, he reunited with Shane for Grapefruit, bringing their shared musical vision back to the dancefloor. Photo: Mitchel Raphael
